ARL member representatives (e.g. a library dean or director) have the power to identify who on their staff is a “senior leader” for ARL’s purposes. For example, senior leaders may be associate university librarians at academic research libraries or deputy directors at public research libraries that are ARL member institutions.
Senior leaders within ARL member institutions benefit from offerings designed specifically with their interests in mind. These include formal and informal opportunities:
- Events: Attendance at semiannual Association Meeting committee meetings if serving on an Association Committee
- Expertise and Networking: Peer-to-Peer Confabs, Association Committee and Task Force service, Senior Leader Listserv, Community Groups, peer and partner networking opportunities
- Learning Programs: Leadership Fellows Program, Intensive Learning Program, Leadership and Career Development Program
- Publications and Resources: Issue-based Reports
